UNESCO organizes a Regional Meeting for Europe and a Scientific Colloquium in Denmark to deal with one of the key elements in the management and protection of the underwater cultural heritage, the public access to it.

UNESCO Underwater Heritage Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark.
A UNESCO Regional Meeting for Northern European States will take place on 8 June 2016 in Copenhagen, open to State representatives only. The regional meeting aims to promote the 2001 Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage and its scientific standards among UNESCO Member States.
The regional meeting will be followed by a scientific colloquium on 9 June 2016, open to all interested scientists, to discuss experiences on how to render underwater cultural heritage accessible.
Both events will take place in the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. They are organized by UNESCO in close cooperation with the National Museum. The working languages of the regional meeting will be French and English. The colloquium will be held in English.
A complementary conference excursion to the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde will be organized on the afternoon of 8 June and an official reception is offered on the evening of that same day.
